Privacy Policy

The short version: MyOjas has no servers, no accounts of its own, no analytics, no ads and no trackers. Your health data lives in exactly two places — on your device, and (only if you turn on backup) in your own Google Drive. We cannot see it. Nobody can but you.

What MyOjas collects

Nothing. MyOjas is a static web app: the site only delivers the app's files to your browser. There is no sign-up with us, no database of ours, no analytics scripts, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Everything you log — food, water, weight, sleep, workouts, cycle, medicines, journal entries, photos — is stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your own device.

What this design asks of you

Storing nothing on our side is what makes the promise above true — but it also means there is no copy of your data anywhere except the places you put it. We would rather say this plainly here than have anyone discover it after losing something. Five things follow from it:

  1. Add MyOjas to your Home Screen and open it from there. iOS deletes a website's stored data after roughly seven days without a visit; web apps installed to the Home Screen are exempt from that rule, and the app also asks the browser to mark its storage as persistent. Used as a browser tab and left alone for a week, your history can be deleted by the operating system — not by us, and not recoverably.
  2. Do not use Private / Incognito browsing. That storage is discarded when the tab closes.
  3. Turn on backup — Google Drive, or the manual file export. Until you do, everything you have logged exists on one device only. If it is lost, stolen, reset, or you clear your browser's website data, the data is gone. We have no copy to restore, by design.
  4. If you encrypt the backup, keep the recovery code. The code is generated on your device and never sent anywhere, so we cannot reset it, recover it, or open your backup for you. Without it, an encrypted backup can never be read again — by anyone, including you.
  5. The app lock gates the app, not the data. Face ID / Touch ID stops casual access to MyOjas, but anyone holding your unlocked device could still reach the underlying browser storage. Your device passcode remains the real protection.

MyOjas is a tracker, not a medical device, and it stores no backup of your information on our side. To the extent permitted by law, it is provided as-is, and you remain responsible for keeping your own backup.

Google Drive backup (optional)

If you choose Continue with Google, MyOjas asks for a single Google Drive permission: drive.appdata. This scope only lets the app read and write its own hidden backup folder inside your Google Drive. It cannot see, open or list any of your Drive files, and no one other than you — including us — can access that folder. The backup exists so you can restore your data on a new phone; disconnecting (Settings → Backup) stops all syncing, and you can delete the app's data from your Google account at any time (Google Account → Security → Third-party apps).

MyOjas' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Food search

When you search for a packaged or non-Indian food, the app may query the USDA FoodData Central or Open Food Facts public databases. Only the search text or barcode number is sent — never your identity or your health data. Common Indian foods are answered from a dataset bundled inside the app, fully offline.

Optional AI assistant

The AI coach is off by default and only works if you paste in your own Anthropic API key. When you ask it a question, the relevant summary of your data is sent to Anthropic under your key and their privacy terms. Never use it if you prefer — every other feature works without it.

Your data, your exit

Settings → Export gives you your complete data as JSON/CSV files at any time. Deleting the app (or clearing site data) removes everything from the device; removing the app's access in your Google Account deletes nothing in Drive by itself, but the backup folder can be removed by disconnecting inside the app or revoking access in your Google Account settings.

Children

MyOjas is a family wellness tracker intended for adults and for family members supervised by an adult. It is not a medical device and gives no medical advice.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear at this address with a new effective date. Since the architecture cannot phone home, no change can ever grant us access to data already on your device.
